Photography to AI to Art
As you may have noticed, I am offering Artwork which is being well received. I wanted to offer my patrons an explanation of the process I use so that my work in this new realm would be considered valid.
Many illustrators and artists feel that using AI is 'cheating' however as someone who has taken photography very seriously and put years of work into understanding the mechanics and artform of photography, I believe that AI is a wonderful tool that enhances my images beautifully.
How I use AI - I begin with a photograph I have taken. As I shoot in a RAW file format, I do upload my images onto my computer and process them (develop them) using Adobe Photoshop.
Once I am finished, I upload my photograph into an AI program such as MIDJOURNEY.
This process is called 'seeding'. Most AI programs require a text description so that the AI program can generate an image from your 'seed' and text description.
Sometime the AI imagery will produce a beautiful image right away however most times you will need to recreate over and over until the AI produces what you are looking for.
After a successful image is created, you can then bring that image back into photoshop to make any changes that suit your vision.

There are many AI programs out there to choose from. I recommend using your favorite search
engine to find them. Most have free usage platforms however you should know that a subscription offers you much more powerful AI 'Models' that return much better results.
