I was born in Hartford CT where I lived for 42 years. I then moved to Cincinnati Ohio and later to Dayton Ohio where I live today. As much as I do miss the beauty of New England, I have come to really love being an Ohioan. The sky is big and it is easy to find dark skies for starscapes. I have been a lover of photography most of my life and it wasn't until 2013 when I first received a DSLR camera that I began taking the craft VERY seriously. My goal was to master the holy trinity of ISO/Shutter Speed/Aperture without thinking about it, as if it were second nature. Which I am grateful that I have. |
There are so many categories of photography that I love with photographing insects being my most favorite. As a young girl I was always afraid of bugs but not anymore. I actually feel a great sense of sorrow as fall slips into winter and they disappear. I also enjoy wildlife photography, landscape and capturing the night sky. I feel uncomfortable doing street photography as I feel like I am spying on people, imposing my camera onto their personal space however I do love viewing other photographers street images. Wedding photography is my least favorite because it is very hard. It is soooooo nerve wracking and brought the reality of 'bridezillas' into a true, clear focus. For all of the work one puts into wedding photography, it is a monumentally hard job that the compensation never equals.
Recently with the development of AI, I have been using this amazing tool to create artwork using my photography as a 'seed' meaning, you us your photography and enter detailed yet condensed text and the AI program you use produces your vision. This process is truly a hit or miss situation and one does experience more misses than hits, however when you do get a hit, it can be breathtaking ! The image below illustrates the before and after;

As you can see, using AI seeding is a true collaboration between human and AI creativity. For me, I feel that using AI to enhance your original work be it photography, painting, corllaige, sketching should be considered valid original artwork.
